Basket Case

I woke up the other morning at about 5:30 and saw light seeping out from under the boys bedroom door. I peeked in saw that the closet door was just slightly ajar with the closet light on. (The light automatically goes on when the door is opened and automatically turns off when the door is closed.)

Daniel was missing from his bed while Lev snoozed unknowingly.

When I peeled back the closet door, I found Daniel sitting in the laundry basket (still half-filled with laundry) and reading a book. I presume it was a comfortable, private spot for him where the light would not disturb Lev. I coaxed him back into bed to get a little more sleep because he had school that day.

But I dreadfully fear fast forwarding about 5 years and finding the same scene...except instead of a book, it will be a magazine.
