Molloy is going through a stage where she is pretending to be different animals, particularly a kitty or a dog. She will either just say what she is or will actually crawl around on the floor panting or meowing.
In the morning I might tell her to go finish getting dressed to which she will reply, in the hopes of avoiding her responsibilities, "But I'm a dog". I would then cleverly reply, "Can the dog go put on her shirt?" She would then happily pad away on her little doggie paws to put on her shirt.
But now she has figured out a way to outsmart me. In the morning, she clearly does not want to get her sleepy little body out from under the nice warm blankets. When I try to coax her to get up and start her day she simply replies without moving, "But I'm a statue".
