Call Forwarding

Lev wanted me to stay home from work this Friday, so I suggested he call them for me and tell them I wasn't coming in, which he was more than happy to do. So he got the phone and asked for the number.

Kerrie took the phone from him, dialed "the person responsible for Dad's schedule", and handed it back to him. "It's ringing," she said.

A moment later, my cell phone started vibrating in my pocket. I wasn't smart enough to realize what had just happened so I answered my phone and said, "Hello?"

Fortunately for me, my son was even less smart than I was and said (with me right in front of him talking on my phone to him), "Hi, is it OK if my dad doesn't come to work today?"

I walked inconspicuously out of the room and with a disguised voice, I had a conversation with my son about whether Mr. Rubin would be coming into the office today.
